Bamberg Hotel Suggestions

Narrowing down to one of 3 choices: Hotel Nepomuk, Villa Geyersworth, and Hotel Bamberg. Any thoughts or experiences with any of them?

We will be in Bamberg early December. Trying to consider the weather and walking the town, going to Dom, etc... Thanks in advance!

The Altstadt (old core) of Bamberg is pretty compact. We stayed at the Altstadthotel Molitor that was just next to the Hotel Nepomuk and it was right on the edge of the Altstadt and handy to everything. Villa Geyersworth is a few steps closer to town and should be no problem. I am not sure about the Hotel Bamberg, maybe Alt Bamberg? I will say that the train station is a little ways from Altstadt and a taxi might be worth the expense to haul the luggage.

We had a wonderful experience. Hope that you do as well. Gary

Thank you for the suggestion. Might they be a little noisier at night since they are breweries? Just wondering...

You may mean the Best Western Hotel Bamberg. I stayed there 3 years ago and thought it was excellent. It's located between the train station and the Altstadt, and it's right around the corner from Faessla and Speziale, both good places to eat and try their Rauch bier. Take a look on Google Maps.

Like Gary, we have stayed at the Molitor on two different occasions. Easy walk to the Altstadt plus there is a great brewery across the street. (No problem with noise.) Love Bamberg and hope you will too!

We stayed at Hotel Bamberg and really liked it, but if we return I would probably choose Nepomuk. It looks very sweet.

Any thoughts on which hotel would offer the best parking? We will have a car.

Hotel Nepomuk doesn't have a hotel owned parking lot, so you have to use one of the public parking garages nearby. Villa Geyersworth and Best Western Hotel Bamberg have.
