Baden Baden parking

We will be traveling by car from Mainz, Germany to Baden-Baden and want to spend an afternoon there before heading for Colmar. Is it safe to park a car with luggage at the train station parking, or another parking area, so we can take a bus in and avoid the traffic?

You are talking about an afternoon in a fairly small town - safe as it comes, but remember to not have any visible " touristy" clues inside the car.

Make sure that you try the Black Jack tables. They allow back betting & the action can get wild!

Only Taxis and service vehicles are allowed inside the town, which is enforced by Bollards. As I recall, there's at least one car park close to the entrance to the town, but I'm not sure whether Buses are available from all parking sites. You might find this helpful - https://www.baden-baden.de/en/tourist-information/guest-service/travel-directions/parking-in-baden-baden/

You'll probably have to take your chances with leaving luggage in the vehicle. The train station may have lockers - not sure, as I didn't check.

Park in town - the road wanders up the hill then back down into town. Just follow the "Therme" signs and dump your car in the public parking lot at Vincentistraße 4, 76530. Then jump in the Caracalla spa, go upstairs to the Saunabereich, then try to remember where you wanted to go next, and why you don't want to stay in Baden Baden for a few more days.
