Bad or mineral waters for familiees

I'm interested in finding a mineral water/spring type thing in Germany for families. My 11 year old daughter is mature and enjoys hot tubs and saunas, but also has a problem with nudity. Typical for that age. Are there any outdoor mineral baths that anyone can recommend that would be suitable? We will be staying in Oberstdorf in the Bavarian alps.

Bad Urach still has some traditional mineral spas. I don't know about the nudity issue though.

Oberstdorf has a therme, but the non-nude area is mostly a regular pool. There may be hot tub, but I don't remember.

If you'll be in the Munich area, Therme Erding has plenty of clothed options (although the nude area is also very extensive). This is a very family-friendly resort and it's barely a 15 minute drive from the airport.

The Therme Erding facility also has an absolutely HUGE water slide area, all clothed. Just a chance that an 11 - or 21 or even 61 - would love.

There is plenty for adults to do in both the clothing and non-clothing areas, including a swim up bar.

Tom does not over sell it. 2 hours for us passed in a flash, and (unusual for us) we never got past about 3/4 of the clothed area and never had time to cross over.

They have added a great wave pool.

And a hotel shaped like a ship-of-the-line with a view of the wave pool.

Sorry, no hotel views of the nude area, though.

Erding is a long way from Oberstdorf. There is a spa, Wonnemar, 14 km away in nearby Sonthofen. I don't know anything about it. Perhaps someone at your hotel can tell you.

There is also a spa, Aquaria, 37 km from Oberstdorf in Oberstaufen. It occasionally has a clothing optional night (Saunanacht). The rest of the time I don't think there is any nudity.

If you are staying in Oberstdorf, you will probably be able to get an Urlaubs Karte, which will cover your train travel to/from Oberstaufen via Immenstadt.

Bad Wörishofen, about 90 km from Oberstdorf, is a well-known spa town, home town of Father Sebastian Kniepp, who pioneered a hydrotherapy treatment which was later developed into the discipline of naturopathy. Kniepp's treatments are offered in some of the hotels and guest houses. There is a new spa complex, Therme Bad Wörishofen, run by the same company as Therme Erding. TBW is very similar to TE, but smaller in scale and less crowded -- very pleasant.

With regard to both Therme Erding and Therme Bad Wörishofen, minimum age in the "textilfrei" areas is 16 years.
