We are heading to Cologne for the Christmas Markets in December and I was wondering if there are any Bed and Breakfasts that are located in a good spot in the city for the markets? We always prefer staying in a local bed and breakfast instead of a hotel if possible.

Better choose a hotel to travel stressfree and social responsibly.
Cologne has housing protection and ban on misappropriation of housing.
If you book an apartment and between booking and arrival an illegally acting landlord gets a problem with authorities you can end up without any accomodation.
We are on a tight budget and couldn't locate a B&b. We are staying at the Dorint Hotel. It is between the Nuemarket and Huemarket. Not too far from the Cathedral but far enough to be out of the melee. We chose it for price and wheelchair accessibility. There are public transit just about at the door.
