We have one day in Hamburg arriving, May 5th 2016 by ship at the Hamburg Cruise Port Hafencity. We want to rent a car and
drive to Lubec and Scherwin Castle. I understand this is the date of Ascension Day in Germany. What's our chances of finding everything closed. We have a full day, from 8:00 to 19:00.

Are you thinking about Lübeck (Luebeck)? And Schloss (castle) Schwerin?
Castle Schwerin is open from 10 am to 6 pm on Ascension day.

In the cities, you find stores (groceries, department stores, clothing) will be closed. Some souvenir shops might be open. Restaurants and tourist sites and museums are usually open.
