Hi all, I am flying to Munich from US in the 2nd week of August and will fly back to US after 9 days. Which cities near by would you recommend? On the top of my list are Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Croatia, Budapest. I am aware that I cant travel to all of these in such a short time. Which ones would you recommend of these that are a must visit? Thank you in advance.

No more than 2 other cities. I'd suggest either Prague and Vienna or Prague and Berlin.

Hi Love- is there some reason you have only listed LARGE cities? If so , where does Salzburg, Venice, and Paris fit in? And why did you pick these cities? What are your interests? Munich is a very nice city so I would definitely spend some time there...

Thank you Sam and Kenneth. I have already been to Switzerland, Italy and France recently. We love architecture, food, walking and exploring the city, sitting at random squares to eat food, listen to music, observe people and culture.

I assume Munich is just an airport for your purposes.
Croatia is a country - and probably a country too far and too hot in August.
Those other places are pretty far too.
I could see Prague + Berlin in 10 days.
But I would probably do Regensburg - Prague - Nuremberg instead. That's a nice loop.
Well-preserved Regensburg has UNESCO World Heritage status
Nuremberg has LOTS of variety, lots to see and do.
Both are lively university towns.

Hi again Love- I personally believe that the Marieplatz in downtown Munich is hard to beat for "sitting at random squares to eat food, listen to music, observe people and culture". And the beer isn't too shabby either...
