Hi, my 22 year old daughter and I will be in Berlin for a week this October.
I would like to deal with a professional property management firm so I know all is being done legally.
Would you please give me your advice on reputable firms and the best neighborhoods for visitors who are interested in history, art and architecture?
Thanks for your help.
I have no idea about property management firms, and I'm not sure what you are looking for in an apartment, but when I was in Berlin, I stayed at the Adina Apartment Hotel Hackescher Markt. I stayed in a studio since I was by myself but they have 2 bedroom apartments with 2 baths, fully equipped kitchens, washer and dryer and so on.
The location is great for visiting most of the major sights and public transportation is easily accessible there. They do have hotels in other Berlin locations as well, but I personally really liked this location. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the rooms were very well prepared, clean and nice.
I stayed nine nights at the same hotel as Mardee and it was fine. I thought the location was excellent for history, art, and architecture -- though many others would be too. Very convenient to the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and trams, easy walk to the major museums.
I don't know about firms that rent individual apartments, but guidebooks like RS and others have suggestions. I'd assume that anyone recommended by RS or Lonely Planet or a similar guidebook would be reputable.
