We will be flying Condor from SFO to Frankfurt this Sept. We then have a long layover (almost 4 hrs) at Frankfurt before we fly from there to Geneva with Air Dolomiti. Would love to be able to get a little sunshine and walk around outside if at all possible at FRA WITHOUT leaving security. Have never flown either of these airlines so no idea what terminal we will be in, etc.
Just wondering if someone here has good knowledge of Frankfurt airport.
Thanks in advance
Afaik there is no open-air area within transfer zone(s),
For a little feeling like this you can try to spend some time at the stations of the SkyLine trains. They are in the highest for travelers available floors.

I am very familiar with the airport, but mainly the public side of it since I don't fly very often. I don't think there are any open air spaces on the transit side.
Google your flights and numbers and it will tell you which terminal you will be using for arrival and departure.
Security is not that bad or that long. Go ahead and go out to the other side. 4 hours is a long time to just sit in the airport. Those with 5 hours or more can easily go into the city.
