Airport transfer Frankfort- Hahn to Trier

I am 81 years old, and need a transfer that might not be the most economical, but with the most efficient, less hassle, transfer. Does anyone know the top private transportation company in Germany? I have used Viator in England, but haven’t been successful in reaching them for a transfer in Germany.

Our hotel is Hotel Park Plaza, Trier,
However, looking at the train station there are more than one location for Trier, which should I use?

Instead of Taxi to Bullay you can take bus 750.

I agree with Badger, Frankfurt-Hahn is not the best airport to fly into to get to Trier.

From the Bahn website, it looks like you can take a VRM (Verkehrverbund Rhain-Modesl) bus #750 from Hahn to Bullay and a train from there to Trier Hbf.

Looking at Google Maps, it looks like the main station in Trier, the Hauptbahnhof, is the closest station to Park Plaza. Bus 303 connects the two places in about 12 minutes.

If you are looking for connections yourself, it might help if you use Frankfurt-Hahn, instead of Frankfort-Hahn. Frankfort is the capital of Kentucky. Just Hahn might also work.

If you fly into Bonn/Köln, it's a 3½hr regional train trip to Trier with a change in Koblenz.

Luxemburg is also a good airport for Trier. It all depends a bit on where you're coming from.

But if the tickets are already bought there might not be much to do.

I've taken this bus myself. There's nothing wrong with it, and it was not my point to ignore it as one of the already-mentioned options or to dismiss it as useless.

The Taxi, however "MAY" be a better fit in this case....

  • The OP has already mentioned advanced age and a concern about transfers using public transport (like bus-to-train.)

  • The OP may not be pleased with the walk with luggage to the Airport bus terminal, which is required to board the bus.

  • The somewhat skimpy bus schedule may not even make a bus available when the OP needs it... all depends on the flight arrival time.

  • The OP has made it clear that cost is secondary to convenience - and might not mind personal help with the baggage.

I’m not great with this, but thank each of you for your help. I am American and my trip begins in Killarney, Ireland, where I will be visiting a friend for one month. I suppose the reason we are flying to Hahn is because it was the best schedule for our needs. I, myself, know absolutely nothing about Germany, although it has been on my bucket list for years. I will be celebrating my 81st birthday in Trier, had hoped for a dinner cruise, but can’t seem to find one.
Russ was exactly correct with the reasons he noted that might be reason’s for choosing private transportation. I cannot walk long distances, especially with luggage in tow.

I also wish to apologize for the spelling of Frankfurt, unfortunately, I don’t know how to correct it!!! Thanks again, for everything.
