Airport Hotel in Dusseldorf

DUS or Düsseldorf Weeze (NRN)?

We are flying back to the U.S. from DUS. We come in to Dusseldorf by train and were hoping to just take the train to the DUS airport with the return flight hotel close by.

There are trains every 10-15 minutes or so from Düsseldorf Hbf (main station) to DUS - trip takes 5-10 minutes. I stayed recently in the inexpensive but near-perfect Hotel Residenz - a reasonable walk to the station from there. Excellent breakfast. I'm sure there are other places too but this place was very good.

I posted the following recommendation about a great airport hotel a couple of years ago. I would not hesitate to fly into Düsseldorf again or stay at this very comfortable hotel.

We had an early morning flight out of the Dusseldorf airport this summer and stayed overnight at the Martim Hotel which is connected to the departure terminal of the airport. Super easy to walk from hotel to departure gate and we ate at the traditional German restaurant in the hotel the night before. I highly recommend this arrangement if your flight leaves that early from the main Dusseldorf airport. We booked online directly with the hotel and got a fairly good rate for booking in advance with no cancellation allowed.

Are you flying from DUS to LAX? That's one of the direct flights from Germany to Calif.

We are flying direct from DUS to RSW (Ft. Myers, FL) on AirBerlin.

Got it. Air Berlin only a few years ago started the only direct flight from Calif to Berlin...LAX to Berlin Tegel.
