Advices appartement in Berlin

We (2 adults and 2 kids) are going to Berlin for 4 or 5 nights in july. We want to have an appartement or an hotel that would allows us to cook our own meals. Since we will arrive from Tegel we want a neighborhood easily accessible. Which one (Mitte ? Charlottenburg?). Which website to look for that kind of accommodation ?

Thanks

I've found some of my apartments on booking.com and some on VRBO.com - never had any problems with either one. Booking.com is the easiest one as you get an immediate confirmation and usually don't have to pay until you stay, although that varies with the particular accommodations. I did a search using sample dates in July and came up with 38 apartments that sleep 2 adults and 2 children (don't know the ages of your kids, they may be considered adults for these purposes).

We'd need more information regarding ages of kids and budget to give you better suggestions.

Hopefully someone will give you some good information about which neighborhood is more convenient to transportation from Tegel. What I found when I stayed in Berlin is that public transportation is excellent and you can usually get from anywhere to anywhere else without too much inconvenience so that may not even be an issue.

Thanks for that answer ! To answer tourvquestion, my kids are 4 and 8. I've read that booking with airbnb could be a bit of a gamble since Berlin ( dont know for the rest of the country) want to stop or have a better control on them.

In 2012 I rented the Capri apartment from Berlin Habitat. While this apartment is too small for a family, the owner has other larger apartments. I'd recommend this company.

It's also worth looking into self-catering "apparthotels". There is a Citadine in Berlin and there are two or three Adagio Adinas. I stayed in the Adagio Checkpoint Charlie near Leipziger Strasse and thought it was overall good. The one issue is that apparthotel units for four people often have only one proper bedroom and a sofabed in the sitting room, which depending on what your kids are willing to put up with might be annoying for them.

Tegel isn't so close to anything. I really don't think you need to take that under consideration... Just take a Taxi from and to the airport and stay in the Mitte if you want to be posh or in Pranz Lauberg if you want to be cool but still with a family suitable atmosphere.

Thanks for that answer !

I've found an appartment that look very good and not too exepnsive for our 4 nights (274 euros total)., but it,s in Wilmersdorf (near an hospital Sankt Gertrauden or something like that) would it be a nice location ?
