I know this is well in advance, but I've noticed some inquires about which Christmas markets to visit in Germany. If you are planning on visiting Köln or Düsseldorf, I'd like to suggest, as a side trip, The Bergish Museum. In 2017 my sisters and I went to visit our cousin and she and her husband took us the Bergish Museum Christmas Market. It was amazing! The entire market is in-doors in the castle in with the tapestries and coats of armour. Outside are the food booths with the traditional food and beverages. It is a bit off the beaten path, so you will need a car to get there, but if you are able to go, I highly recommend it. Here is a link to the website.

Thanks for the information. We are staying in Nuremberg for 3 days. What’s the location of the Christmas markets, looking for lodging close by.

Richard;
I've never been to the market in Nürnberg, but my understanding is that the location of the Christmas Market is right in the middle of Altstadt. Here is the website: http://www.christkindlesmarkt.de/en/
Hotels are listed here as well.
Have a great trip!
