Adina Hotel Mitte

I have seen numerous posts on the Adina Hotels in Berlin, mostly favorable. But I have not seen any that comment specifically on the Adina Mitte. Has anyone had any experience with this particular Adina? Thoughts on its location especially. I am a first time visitor to Berlin! Preference of one Adina over another location in Berlin? Thanks in advance.

I stayed there in May. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the Hauptbanhoff or one tram stop. It's fine.

I've also stayed at the Hackescher Markt location. I think this is a better location than Adina Mitte for sightseeing, restaurants, shops, etc.

I would agree with Frank about the location. I loved staying the Hackescher Markt area (and I stayed at the Adina hotel there as well). There are quite a few restaurants, cafes, small grocery stores and even wine shops in the area, and it's a very easy walk to many of the main sites. The DDR museum is very close, along with the TV Tower, and Lindenstraße is a quick walk away along with Museum Island. There are also plenty of public transportation stops there. In fact, you can get to the hotel from the airport (and vice versa) quite easily on the S-Bahn with no transfers.

I doubt if you'll get a response from anyone who has stayed in both Adina locations, which would be the best way to compare them. Looking at a map, I'd agree with others that the Hackescher Markt location is more convenient for "conventional" sightseeing, especially Museum Island. But your interests may be different, and I didn't try to figure out which place has better U-Bahn and S-Bahn connections to others. If you know what you want to see in Berlin, you could use a transit map to plot out your likely routes, which might help you choose. From a hotel quality standpoint, I expect both are comparable, and you can compare costs which might be different.

Hopefully you'll hear from someone with experience at the Mitte location -- if not the Adina, then another hotel nearby. If not, maybe you should try it and report back to expand our Adina database here! ;-)

Well, Dick, you may want to re-read my response as I have stayed at both locations.
