anyone have experience with adina hotel locations in Berlin
Yes....I stayed at the Hackesher Markt location in November and liked it. (Others on the forum have stayed as well.) Great location. See if you can get a room with a washer/dryer.
I'll be back in Berlin in two weeks and I'm trying the location closer to the Hauptbanhoff this time.
I've stayed in numerous Adina hotels and like them. My favorite, and one I've been to three times in the last year, is Vienna.
I like them because they are like a cross between an apartment and a hotel. Apartment like room with hotel services.
If you do stay at Hackesher Markt, there is a coffee house at the corner. (Kamps Backerei.), Stay away. Terrible coffee and the rudest people working there.
The location is Hackescher Markt.
Kamps is a bakery chain, not a coffee house.
So they are measured by bread quality which is good - like in all Kamps branches in that area. I am customer at this branch as well for years - had no issues over the years.
Anyplace that serves coffee is open for criticism of their coffee.
Berliner Schnauze?
"coffee house"
I initially thought, due to the recent German law change, you meant "coffee house", nudge nudge....
I really liked the Adina at Hackescher Markt. I saw the one located at Checkpoint Charlie, and it did not seem as nice (or as convenient to me).
Mardee, the photos of the one near the Hautpbanhoff--Mitte--not the one near Checkpoint Charlie--showed photos that were exactly the same as my room at Hackescher Markt.
Frank, that's interesting. I should have said I was talking about the outside more, as I did not see the rooms in the Checkpoint Charlie location. I just remember walking by and thinking that I was glad I was staying at the Hackescher Markt location.
I didn't even realize that Adina had a location near the train station. I stayed at the Motel One there, which was very convenient, on my return trip to Berlin.
I liked the Adina at Hackescher Markt for its convenience and location. I had a similar experience with unpleasant service at the Kamps bakery on the corner -- but the pastries were good.
