Accessing transit hotel at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt Airport has a transit hotel called MY CLOUD in the non-Schengen area. Anyone with a non-Schengen flight can book it by the hour. I'd love to get some sleep during my 5-hour layover, but I might have trouble qualifying to use it. I had to book my travel as two separate itineraries in order to use miles for part of it, so I believe that I will have to claim my luggage and recheck it. My CLOUD won't allow anyone in with anything but carry-on luggage to use it anyway. Apparently the use is restricted to international travelers in transit, which I am, but I may fail to qualify.

Doe anyone know how to make this work? I might be able to check my bag all the way through, but I'm at the mercy of the airlines for that, and even then, I'm not sure if I can do it. I'm flying Zagreb to Frankfurt on Croatian, then Zagreb to SFO on Condor.

There is a luggage storage area in the airport. But having flown on Condor in July from FRA to SEA, I don’t think you’re really going to have much time to sleep unless your bags get checked all the way to SFO. It took us over an hour and a half to check in our bags at FRA. They only had two people working the desk and the self-check kiosks would not allow you to print luggage tags. Then we had to go through security. We arrived at the airport 3 hours before our flight and got to the gate about 15 minutes before they started boarding. At most, you’ll get an hour of sleep before you have to start the check in process.

You might want to just pay for a lounge. They have food, comfy places to rest, shower, etc. That Cloud hotel is expensive for what you get. By the time you get your luggage stored, find your way there, it will be time to turn around and go check in.
