Arriving at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) at 5:35 a.m. with an 8 hour layover on the way to Canada via Lufthansa. Without getting access to one of the airport international lounges, any suggestions on how to while away the time? Kinda early for a tour or ? Any airport hotels close by for a snooze? Looking for suggestions and ideas. Thanks.
If you and this company are "up" for an earlybird tour of Frankfurt you might email this nice company. http://www.frankfurtonfoot.com/layover-tours
Terrific suggestion! Thanks.
There are at least two hotels right by the airport, outside the transit area, but all are still a bit of a trek to walk to them. (I found everything at that airport a bit of a trek to walk to; the gates are very spread out and some require an intra-airport train to access.) The Hilton has day rooms, or as your destination is outside the Schengen area you could try the My Cloud Transit Hotel described here. Could be worth checking potential availability in advance without actually booking, in case you are simply too whacked to enjoy a tour as described above.
Considering our departure from Dubai is at 01:00 and into FRA at 05:35, I'm thinking your suggestion definitely has merit. Thanks.
