4 teenage girls in Munich 14,15,15,17

Hi
Two families traveling with our four girls. I'm looking for any suggestions for something different than what's in the guide books - castles and museums are great, but what else should we look for in Munich? If I were creating the perfect teenage spot, it would somehow combine something physical (rock climbing, obstacle course kind of thing, fun music, cool shops and a beer hall - maybe more for the parents than the kids that last one.) What I have found over the years traveling is that no matter how much research I do, there are always those little nuggets I don't find til I'm on the ground. Because of a tight timeline and needing to maneuver with a larger group, I'm looking for some help finding the nuggets of cool for our girls.

Thanks so much!

How many days are you in Munich?

Rent bicycles nearby and peddle around in the Englisher Garten hooking up with you in a centrally located biergarten in the Englisher Garten.

Do they like science? One of the best science museums in Europe, the Deutsches Museum, is in Munich.

There was a previous thread about ropes courses near Munich. Search kletterwald near Munich.

Take the train to Herrsching then hike through the forest (or take the bus that meets the train) up the hill to the Andechs brewery and monastery. Between Munich and Herrsching there are a couple of small lakes for swimming and hiking along the way.

Seconding watching the surfers. It's fascinating and not to be missed! Munich's "cooler" areas are out in the suburbs like Schwabing - lots of hip shops, restaurants, etc in those areas, as well as the Glockenbachviertel.

I went to Munich on a class trip my junior year in high school. I am trying to remember what we did that was fun.

We did the Hofbrauhaus, Dachau, watched the Glockenspiel, ate lunch at a three story McDonalds (forks for eating fries still stands out in my mind as does paying for ketchup), we spent some time shopping in the Marianplatz. We went to the olympic park, BMW, and Nymphenburgschloss.

Munich has a big concert scene, so it might be fun to see a concert. On our past trip to Germany, we saw a concert in Stuttgart and it was one of the highlights of the trip.

Also I know tickets are expensive, but if there is a Bayern Munich game playing (fussball/soccer) that might be fun too!
