Where is the Best place to stay for 3 nights in the Rhine Mosel Area? We want to see Burg Eltz, The Mosel River etc.
Is it smarter to pick one town and just day trip around? We also want to stay in a smaller quaint town.

Its hard to say because the area son the Rhine where you would want to be are about an hour's train ride, with a transfer in Koblenz, from the area on the Mosel. You could stay in Cochem on the Mosel and make the trip to the Rhine for a long day, or divide the nights with two on one river and one on the other. IN our case, we stayed two nights in Bacharach on the Rhine and two in Cochem on the Mosel, and visited Marksburg on the former and Burg Elz on the latter, among other things, ad we (my 13p daughter and I) chose these two with RS' "Germany" guidance... Cochem was much more touristy, Bacharach was much more old small German village-y

Checking the map, we'll probably spend a night on the Mosel then head east and stay 2 nights on the Rhine.

Keim, I think I should point out that Mosul is a town in Iraq, on the river Tigris.
The Mosel (or Moselle in French) is a tributary of the Rhine, joining it at Koblenz. ☺

Sorry, yeah i don't think i'd enjoy Mosul as much as Mosel. My ancestors are from that area you'd think i'd get it right.
