We arrive in Munich on October 19 after a riverboat cruise and a train ride from Nuremburg. We have Thursday afternoon and all day Friday and Saturday to explore. Flying out on Sunday morning. We will do our best to see those things that interest us in Munich the first day and a half. My question is should we use Saturday for a day trip and what location would be a good choice? Don't plan on having a car but can get one if it makes good sense.
In my opinion there is no need for a day trip if this is your first time in Munich and you only have two days. There are so many attractions and interesting things to fill more than two days. It also depends on your interests. If you like museums you can spend a whole day in Residenz museum or Alte or Neue pinakothek. Also if you like to rest a little there is English garden in the heart of the city or Nymphenburg castle just a few tram stops from the centre.
