In time for Karneval, Germany's ver.di (United Service Workers Union) announced an all-day strike at various (but not all) airports around the country on Friday, February 17, reports state broadcaster ZDF (the 2).
Germany's version of the AAA, ADAC, also reports that:
- Frankfurt, Munich, and Hamburg will essentially halt all flight operations the entire day.
- The planned strike will also hit Bremen, Dortmund, Hanover, and Stuttgart.
- But Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Nuremberg will not be "struck", although it's clear all domestic flight operations will be severely affected.
