Travel from Munich to Berchtesgaden

We will be traveling from Munich to Berchtesgaden and are trying to decide if it would be better to rent a car or travel there by train. Also, would you recommend driving from Berchtesgaden to Feussen? Thanks for any input.

It will be faster if you drive, once you start, but there is the time you spend renting a car (If you don't already have it). Fuel for the car will cost more than a train ticket. Your pick.
