Zum Grünen Kranz
This restaurant serves an above average meal for a pretty much average price. I really enjoyed the pan-seared beef medallions in a onion cream sauce with cucumbers (pickles) - sounds a little strange but it works. Service was really good the food was excellent.
El Grego
Sometimes you just need something different so we tried El Grego, the Greek restaurant in Zell. What a surprise! We had the Akropolis Plate (for two) and it was massive. This meal could easily feed four adults. We also had the Dolmadakia (dolmades) for an appetizer and certainly didn’t need them. We never even touched the pommes frites. This food (steak medallions, lamb burgers, lamb skewers, gyro meat, and chicken with rice pilaf with stewed vegetables and pommes frites on the side) was excellent! This was probably the best meal of the entire trip (although we loved all the German food).

This restaurant was fine but only average. My schnitzel was tender but nothing special and the wife’s chicken was acceptable.
