We stayed at the Schloss Zell in Zell am Mosel for three nights. This hotel is in an old palace and is spectacular. Our room, a “Tower” room, was more like a suite with a couch located in the circular tower portion. The tower portion of the room also had the original lattice vaulted ceiling which made you feel you were staying in a medieval palace. The washroom was the largest of our trip with two lavatory sinks and a separate water closet. The hotel has parking for 5 or 6 cars and put out an adequate breakfast buffet. The hotels was between restaurant operators so evening meals were not available but they did have a self-serve honor bar for after-hours refreshments. There are plenty of fine restaurants in the city. Staying in this former Schloss was well worth the negligible extra cost compared to other hotels in the area.
