Which hotel in Berlin?

We are in are 70s. Well traveled in Europe. Alumnae of 4 RS tours. We are considering 4 hotels in Berlin for a 4-5 day stay. Arriving by train, leaving by plane. Would like opinions if you have stayed at any of these. Two on the west side, two on the east side. We will be using public transport and would like to be easy walking distance to it. The hotels are: Hecker's Hotel, Dormero Hotel Berlin Kurtfurstendamm, Myer's Hotel and Kastenienhof Hotel. Thanks for your help.

I’ve stayed at the Myer’s hotel at the end of the RS Germany tour a couple of years ago. Nicest hotel on the tour and I liked it enough to stay there again if I’m in Berlin. Nice neighborhood. Good location about 3 blocks to a subway stop and about 2 blocks in the opposite direction to a tram line. Some good restaurants within about a 10 minute walk but with good transit links there’s no reason to limit your dining options to the local restaurants.

If you are interested in the sites of Museum Island stay in the former East Berlin sector. Lots of hotels in that area and nice to walk along the Spree River. We like an apartment so we stay at the Adina Apartment Hotel Hackescher Market. Easy walk to the museums and the Dom and lots of good restaurants right around the corner where you’ll also find the tram (love the tram!) and the UBahn station.

I stayed at the Kastenienhof Hotel and enjoyed it very much. Bountiful breakfast, clean rooms and very quiet. On a street with a tram line. I would recommend it.
