By far the worst hostel I've experienced in Germany. I talked to my friend, who stayed there previously, and he said that it was pretty decent last time he was there, so it seems like they changed ownership. Upon walking into the lobby, everything looks swanky and nice, but the actual rooms are a different story. Most of their power outlets don't work, including the first floor bathroom lights. It looks like they are still under renovation (I stayed in September 2016), which could explain the terrible electricity. The walls are also pretty thin, the rooms are bare, and the hallway is a bit dodgy looking. If you are on a tight budget, I'd suggest you spend a little extra at another hostel. I don't think Rick Steves' 2016 Germany guidebook's review of this place is updated to the change in ownership and subsequent renovations because it's completely different from what we've experienced.
