We stayed at the Hotel Waldmann in Schwangau for two nights. This hotel is about a 15 minute (~1.5km) walk from the ticket office in Hohenschwangau. The rooms are generous and ours had a covered balcony and a beautiful view of Schloss Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. While our room (as all others?) was an ensuite room with a shower, we noticed that each floor had a community washroom containing a bath tub. This might be important for people traveling with small children. The hotel also had an ample playground for children. The breakfast spread was probably the largest of any our entire trip and we enjoyed a delightful evening meal in their restaurant one of the evenings.
