Hello - I was wondering if you could suggest a sandwich shop near the Hilton Munich City Hotel? I will be leaving on a train from Munich to Frankfurt and was hoping to pack a lunch for myself.
Thank you for any suggestions!!

There is a deli/bakery about a block from the hotel near the U-Bahn station.
I usually find great train picnic stuff in train stations in Europe. Haven't been through Munich recently, but I know there were lots of food kiosks.

Near the City Hilton in Munich is no U-Bahn station but only a suburban train station (Rosenheimer Platz). Just wanted to mention in case the OP is getting confused :-)
Between the Hilton hotel and S-Bahn station Rosenheimer Platz there is a shopping arcarde (called Motorama) including 2 supermarkets, 2 bakeries and a Subway sandwich restaurant.
@Paul636
Sure Motorama is still open? I passed it on Tuesday on the other side of the street and it looked quite empty. But not sure to be honest.
@mignon, you mentioned there is only an S-bahn near the hotel. By chance, do you know if you can take that into the center of Munich? We were hoping to have easy access to see the Christmas markets in the city center. I didn't realize this wasn't a U-bahn until you mentioned it. Thank you
Thank you everyone for your suggestions! Very helpful!

There is a core S-Bahn route through the central part of Munich. It directly links the Ostbahnhof, the Hauptbahnhof, and Pasing in the west with several intermediate stops including Rosenheimer Platz near your hotel towards the east end of the corridor. All S-Bahns (urban trains) on the corridor stop at all stations along that core. 4 stops to the Hauptbahnhof.
Have a look at the MVV (Munich transportation plan) network map https://www.mvv-muenchen.de/fileadmin/mediapool/03-PlaeneBahnhoefe/Netzplaene/MVVNetzplanSU_R.pdf
The S-Bahns, U-Bahns (like a metro or US style subway), and Regional trains are all identified on that map.
@Nigel - Thank you so much for that reply. We thought there was a U-bahn right there. Appreciate all your help.
Like Nigel mentioned the S-Bahn is directly linked to Marienplatz - only 2 stops.
Your Hotel is located in the district Haidhausen (near Haidhausen's French Quarter). A district with lots of small shops, bars, restaurants and so on. In walking distance you will find everything you need and much more :-) And only 5 minutes away is Weißenburger Platz hoasting my favorite Christmas market.
Are you leaving the hotel in the morning or afternoon? The Hilton has prepared a 'to go' bag for me before: bread, butter, cheese, jam, yogurt, fruit, etc.
Also, lots of great places to grab food at the station.
Unless things have changed, there is a direct entrance to the S-Bahn from the hotel.

Mine as well!
My mistake, the Rosenheimer Platz station near the Hilton Hotel is an S-Bahn station, not U-Bahn. There is a bakery and the station is only 2 stops from Marienplatz. We were there in April and rode the train from the airport to Rosenheimer Platz and back. Good hotel and easy access to city center.
