Rothenburg- Pension Elke still in business?

Rick mentioned this B&B with rooms above Klaus’ grocery store in his travel letter for Rothenburg.
I’ve emailed twice requesting a reservation for two nights in early December but no response.

Does anyone have information on this charming place? Otherwise I need to find an alternative.

TIA.

You might want to try calling them. A lot of smaller places are slow to respond to email but will pick up the phone when someone calls. Make sure your timing is correct. +49 09 861 2331 It should only cost a couple of dollars to call from your phone. Just make sure you add in the country code. http://www.pension-elke-rothenburg.de/

ETA: If you click on the Preise (prices) page, there is a link for zur Reservierung (reservations), which will ask for booking information. You might try that as well. http://www.pension-elke-rothenburg.de/preise.html

her calendar shows no vacancy in any of the rooms in Dec. You can see this by going to rothenburg.de, kultur and tourismus, then click on the 3 lines that indicate menu, planen & buchen, gastgeber, gastgeber stadt, pensionen, Elke ( finally ! ), zur reservierung, verfugbarkeiten anzeigen. This will show you the vacancies for the rooms.

From the calendar, I wouldn’t be surprised if she closes in the winter.

Sometimes it takes a lot of searching to find the info you need, in this case 10 clicks !

Thanks for all your help. I finally resorted to Booking.com and found many hotels are booked for my dates! I think I have reserved a room in a nice hotel - Villa Mittermeier Hotellerie & Restaurant, Vorm Würzburger Tor 7, Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The reviews were very positive.

Threadwear,
Oh my! I looked at your recommendation and changed my mind. I’m going to stay at the Hotel BurgGartenpalais. It looks divine and the room rate is 85,50 EUR a night including breakfast.
Thanks so much!

Has anyone stayed here?

I've not stayed at Hotel BurgGartenpalais, but stayed nearby at Klosterstueble. It's a very pleasant area. The restaurant at Klosterstueble is very good; be sure to make a reservation if you want to dine there (or anywhere!).
