Does anyone know if Guesthouse Raidel in Rothenburg is still open? I stayed there last year and he was very quick to respond to a booking request and email, Rick says he prefers contact with the online form. I have sent both trying to book for the family next year with no response after a couple of weeks. I know Norry is on the older side, so may have retired/closed? I enjoyed staying there and thought the family would find it quirky/fun too.

Boy, I don't know. I hope he is still there. I spent 2 nights there in 2003 and enjoyed it. I thought Lorry was charming. On Google Maps, Gästehaus Raidel is still there, but it is not shown as a host (Gastgeber) on the Rothenburg odT website. The Raidel website is still up, but I guess you knew that. It has a phone number; you might try calling it.
Last time I stayed in Rothenburg, I stayed at Gasthof Post. It's at the corner of Bahnhofstraße and Ansbacher Straße, the main street into Rothenburg through the Rödertor, outside the walls but a short walk from the train station. It isn't "quirky" like Raidel, but I liked it.
