We will be taking the new RS of Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna tour which will fall during the Christmas markets and are beyond excited. We want to add on 4 nights post tour and plan on one night in Regensburg, one night in Stuttgart, and 2 nights in the Colmar/Strasbourg area.
I have two reservations on hold for Regensburg, and need to decide between the two-
- Hotel am Peterstor and
- Hotel Goldenes Kreuz
Stuttgart is a little trickier. I have one tentative reservation at City Hotel Stuttgart.
Our main priority is that the hotels are close enough to the train stations as that will be our mode of transportation....but we also want to be in the areas of the actual Christmas markets. We have no experience with Europe during the holiday season so we're happy to have any advice! Does anyone have any experience with the hotels I've listed above? Are we missing a hotel that would be a better option? Our budget isn't unlimited so keeping the price at or below 150 euro is preferred and Hotel am Petertor is clearly more economical than Hotel Goldenes Kreuz (which is recommended in Rick's book).
I couldn't find any recommendations in Stuttgart.
