We are looking for Frankfurt hotels which are local hotels.
Would prefer those with complementary breakfast and near the train station.
Travel dates in May 2025 in a RS tour.
Thank you!
I like to go through Booking.com, lots of local places on there. The only thing is, Booking will often offer a price that is lower without breakfast, and you then add on the cost of breakfast. There is no free lunch (well, breakfast) if a hotel includes breakfast, you are paying for it in the price, evidenced by a lower prices offered, sans breakfast.
Regardless of what I feel about Frankfurt Hbf 's environs , ie negative, I still stay very close to the Hbf. My hotel is Hamburger Hof. It does not however have a complimentary breakfast. That's extra. The guests are both Germans and foreign tourists.
I enjoyed Hotel Schmärrnche a few years ago. It’s been in the same family for 150 years, is a lovely old half-timbered building surrounded by other historic buildings in the cute neighbourhood of Bornheim. It is not in the station district but has a number of very nearby transit options that take you straight to the station in a few minutes. Good breakfast, a lovely off-street courtyard to have a glass of wine in, and a well-reviewed restaurant but I didn’t eat dinner there.
it felt satisfyingly traditional and pretty.
