Munich's Pension am Jakobsplatz

Absolutely wonderful 2-night-stay at Pension am Jakobsplatz. We were in town during an (apparently) massive engineering conference, so hotel prices were outrageous. Christoph was able to offer great prices with an amazing location (just a couple minutes walk from Marianplatz or the market). He gave us super recommendations for eating, drinking, and site-seeing, and he seemed in-touch with his neighborhood and city - he sent us to a small local festival that was occurring on the day of our arrival and for some of the best beer of our lives. I would recommend this small pension to anyone - be sure to book early, because they always seem full!! One note, my partner was not thrilled about sharing the toilet (the shower is in the room and you only share the toilet with one other room), but after our experience with the proprietor and the area, this became a non-issue ;)

Couldn't agree with you more about the excellent location. Last week, we stayed upstairs from Pension am Jakobsplatz in Pension Lindner. There was a heatwave in Munich while we were there and since there is no a/c we asked Frau Sinzinger about getting a fan in our room. She quickly informed us that there are no fans in Pension Lindner. Then we noticed downstairs in the entry way photos of Pension am Jakobsplatz with great big fans! We wished we had chosen Pension am Jakobsplatz if just for the fans. Sounds like Christoph is a great host, too!
