Hello!
My family of 4 will be in Munich in July. Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Torbrau? Is it a decent, clean, air conditioned & safe hotel for a family? We would like to be within walking distance (or with easy access to transit) of Marienplatz & the Hofbrauhaus.

I stayed there in December 2019 and really enjoyed it. Comfortable, clean rooms and a huge breakfast buffet with delicious food in an attractive dining room. The front desk is very helpful and accommodating. I think you will be happy with your stay here.
I have stayed at Hotel Tobrau 4 times..not since 2019. It is my favorite hotel..they are very helpful..professional..near the s bahn..and breakfast is fantastic..you can eat on the terrace. Very well located.
YES - we stayed there for 4 nights a few years ago and really liked it. If you want to even get closer to Marienplatz, I can also highly recommend Hotel Platzl - it is quite a bit closer and just as nice - we even liked the breakfast better. We have booked Hotel Platzl again for Dec for our Christmas Market Trip. You can check out both on TripAdvisor
Another vote for Hotel Tobrau!! Would not hesitate to stay there again.
Add my vote for the Hotel Torbrau too. We enjoyed it. Great location, fabulous breakfast.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I will keep our reservation at Hotel Torbrau. I had previously checked Hotel Platzl but they did not have a room(s) that could accommodate our family. I’m looking forward to visiting the city my military family was stationed in back in 1979!

I was still a child in '79 but I have fond memories of the Little Oktoberfest that took place near MCGraw casern every year.
