Looking for recommendations on hotels, restaurants first part of December. 3 adults and 3 kids 10, 14, 15. Probably looking for 2 rooms.

I think you need to provide some clues for what you are looking for in terms of locations and price range. I was in Munich in January with my two sons who were 22 and 20 at the time. We stayed at Hotel Uhland in a family room. A great breakfast was included. The property is a renovated mansion, close to the Oktoberfest grounds. We ate at the beer halls. My favorite was Augustiner on the Marienplatz.

It's Christmas Market time and most will be booked. We go every other yr and book a year in advance. We love Hotel Schlicker - they also have apartments for families- but I'd imagine it's booked up this late. Hotel Platzl is good too. Both less than a minute walk to Marienplatz and close to 3-4 good Xmas Markets.

I highly recommend Hotel Antares. Close to the U/S Bahn and within walking distance to the Marienplatz. Great breakfast and in a quiet location. Use their website for the best rates. And they respond quickly to e-mail inquiries. They accept cash and credit cards. And new/updated bathrooms with shower, hairdryer, etc. in each room. They have rooms for 1-4 people. We'll be staying there (for the 3rd or 4th time) in December.
