Im Malerwinkel B&B, Bacharach, Germany

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago. It's in a great location away from the train noise and has very good parking available. The rooms were clean and there is a nice garden area and well as a large room where guests may congregate during the day and evenings. The owners weren't necessarily the friendliest hosts we've encountered but run a nice clean reasonably priced B&B.

Wow, we stayed there a few years ago and I totally concur. Nice place, but odd staff. I would stay there again.

If Malerwinkel is full you might consider the Alte Muehle, which is up the street towards Steeg, about 200 meters, in sight of the Malerwinkel. It has has its own restaurant, with a very accomplished chef. The staff are all friendly and the rates are a tad cheaper than Malerwinkel. The breakfast is better than Malerwinkel's, IMHO. They are also friends with a local wine maker and can arrange a free visit to his winery for those interested in such things.

Charles,
re: Alte Muehle Did you have to call to make a reservation? No online ability to book this hotel it seems.

"No online ability to book this hotel it seems."

Their website has a page for online reservations and an email address to write to.
