Hotels in Boppard

I would love hotel recommendations for Boppard. We are staying at Castle Schoenberg in Oberwesel for a night, then going to Boppard for 3 nights (as part of our 2 1/2 week European vacation). My husband and I are traveling with our two adult daughters, so we are either looking at two separate rooms or an apartment room, like Residence Bellevue. I would love to keep it at $200 a night or so.

Any recommendations? Right now we are looking at two riverfront rooms at Hotel Garni Günther or an apartment room at Residence Bellevue, although I guess they would put twin beds in the living room area for that.

Have you checked on the town website www.boppard.de. I see several apartments ( ferienwohnung ) that are less than 100 Euro per night

I stayed in Boppard at the Hotel Garni Gunther in May 2018 for four nights. I had a balcony room that had a direct view to the Rhine with nothing but some short trees in between. The Rhine view is better as one goes to higher floors. I was content to sit for hours on the balcony watching the traffic on the Rhine (and the hotel sells adult refreshments and sodas also). The hotel owner, Sonya, and her staff were top-notch. Hotel, room, facilities and breakfast were all great. Many restaurants were close. A market is a few minutes away and the Sesselbahn was a 15 minute walk. Train station is about a 10 minute walk.

I highly recommend Boppard. I made day trips to St Goar and Bacharach during my stay and I was so glad of the choice I made as St. Goar and Bacharach are very small. Boppard offered many choices in hotels, restaurants and other activities. Other posters on this travel forum steered me to Boppard. The train connections are great also, one can also make a day trip to Cochem from Boppard.

We stayed at a great apartment in Boppard in June 2018 with our two kids. On AirBnB, search for Alte Seilerei. It’s in one of the oldest buildings in town, on the CUTEST little square. It has a lots of charm, two bedrooms each with a queen bed (very comfy), 1.5 baths, full kitchen, living room and patio. Close to the train station, with tons of shops right outside, yet very quiet.

Yes Hotel Garni Günther! Our family stayed there last March, had two rooms both with a balcony and view. And yes you could sit for hours taking in the views and watching the river traffic. Rooms were just fine, breakfast was good, then have an elevator, well it’s about the size of a small shower but it does it’s job. Walking distance to everything, great little cafes around. We took the train down to Bingen to meet friends stationed at Ramstein Air Base for dinner. Boppard was our favorite town along the Rhine.
