Hotel Uhland in Munich

This was out third stay at RS-recommended Hotel Uhland. Nice room, good beds, reasonable plumbing. The quiet location is convenient by foot to station and sites, and there's frequent and reliable bus service as well. Breakfast is good, with a nice array of tasty things, good coffee, and friendly service. Front desk personnel are friendly, relaxed yet professional. Competitively priced.

I also really like this hotel for every reason the OP stated. I really enjoyed the breakfast, and the staff members were all friendly and helpful.

One (dis)advantage that has not been mentioned is Hotel Uhland's proximity to the Theresienwiese, Munich's Oktoberfest grounds. In winter the Tollwood festival is on the Theresienwiese grounds. During these times, especially Oktoberfest, it is virtually impossible to find accommodations at Hotel Uhland.

Other than that, it is, as stated, a charming hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood.l. I don't care much for the breakfast and they will sometimes allow you to forfeit it for a savings (for me last time) of EUR 6/day. The quality of the offerings, juices, coffee, breads etc was inferior and lack of fresh fruit was for me not ideal.

Also a few years ago wifi was spotty in some rooms and parking places were in short supply. Check with them on these if needed....

I first stayed at this hotel in 2004 with my three young daughters. We had a large room with enough beds for all. have stayed with them twice since in other smaller rooms. A great Bavarian breakfast and interesting, comfortable rooms. The staff are very welcoming. A great choice whether you're on your own or traveling with the family.

Stayed here 3 nights in September 2014. Beautiful small hotel in a quiet residential location just a block away from the Octoberfest grounds. 10 minute walk to the Munich Hbf., 15 minute walk to Augustiner Keller (the world's best beer garden). . Clean rooms, very good breakfast (included), friendly service, and reasonably priced rooms. A great find!
