I will be arriving at the Nuremberg airport and from my research, I could take a subway U2 to the Central Train Station HBF and could walk via the underpass to Konigstrasse and then take a left on LuipoldstraBe to find Hotel Keimi or Hotel Probst.
Has anyone done this walk and do you have a preference between Hotel Keimi or Hotel Probst?

We stayed at the Hotel Drei Raben while in Nurnberg in 2016 for the Christmas Market and found the hotel to be very centrally located and staff was extremely helpful plus a happy hour each day!
Thank you Linda. That hotel is wonderful as I had emailed them and they did not have a triple room for our stay unfortunately but were so helpful. Thank you again and I may be back for the Holiday market and stay there.
The Hotel Probst and Hotel Keimi are only a 2 Star but they are both in the RS guide books and seem to be right next to each other. The area looks a little dicey as there is adult entertainment across the street but not uncommon in Europe.
Any other travelers been to either Hotel Probst or Hotel Keimi?

When are you going? We will be staying at Probst end of September, we will be walking there from the hbf after first walking in the other direction to do laundry. We will also be walking a few days earlier from the hbf and back to the Germanic National Museum, an intermittent stop from Munich to Rothenburg. We (couple age 65 and 64) see no reason to worry about this. Will our feedback be useful to you then, or too late?

I am going on September 19th just for one evening. What would be very helpful would be your walking directions from HBF. I have used google maps each time and it does not send me the most direct routes.
Also, did you look at both Hotel Probst and Hotel Keimi since both are in the RS guide and next door basically to each other.

We preferred Probst based on what we saw on the website (since Keimi did not show it in English) and some Trip Adviser comments.
As for directions -between the Map in the RS book and a nice clear Google map, plotting our own route through there is easy, following their suggestion is easy and obvious. It is under 1/4 mile, you cannot get lost. Cross to the park, go through, left, right, left.

Very easy. From the station take the subway signposted "Altstadt" (historical center). After coming back to ground level bypass the Victoria hotel (left) and turn left into Luitpoldstrasse (there is a Burger King at the corner). Both hotels are on the left side, first the Keiml (which I prefer) then the Probst. It's a 5 mins. walk.
