hotel in Koblenz

I was there many years ago, but the place I stayed, the Ibis, still gets good reviews. Plain but functional, walking distance from the train station.

Hotel Brenner is very nice. Not too far from the train station, easy walking distance to the river and some good restaurants. Very clean, spacious room.

Trierer Hof worked well for us.

Do you need to stay exactly in Koblenz, or just in the general area? I found Koblenz to be kind of a big city, not that interesting. Think about staying in Boppard instead. Another possibility would be Braubach, where you could tour the Marksburg, the only castle on the Rhein that was never destroyed.

Thank you for your replies. I wanted to stay in Koblenz for 2 nights because it appears to be convenient to see both the Rhine valley and the Mosel valley (Burg Eltz). However, we may opt to forego the Mosel and stay in Boppard or Bacharach.
