I would recommend the Adina Hotel Berlin Hackescher Markt. It was recommended by another traveler from the Rick Steve's group and it was fantastic. Our one bedroom apt. was convenient when we ate many take out meals in our room. Additonally, having a washer and dryer even for a few days was a life saver. Its location is so close to many Hop On Hop Off buses as well as many forms of mass transit. It is also close to stores, ie. Uniqlo when we needed to buy additional warmer clothes and the cost didn't break the bank. There is an authentic german restaurant underneath the train station which was delicious and next door to the hotel. I think it was called 1840.Additionally Ivan, a graduate student is a very friendly bartender at the hotel. The hotel is also walking distance to museum island.
I’m glad you liked it! I either recommended it or at least thought about recommending it! Such a good location and I like the brand too.
I ate at that restaurant last time I was in Berlin. Really enjoyed it.
I've recommended the hotel on this site. I believe Mardee has as well.
Ive also stayed at the Adina near the Hauptbahnhoff but the Hackesher Markt one is better.
If anyone is thinking of booking there, do so on their website. When I stayed, I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite simply because I booked direct.
Glad you liked it! I've stayed there before (based on other recs here; including Frank's) and always recommend it wholeheartedly. It's such a nice hotel with so many benefits.
We stayed across the street from the Berlin Hauptbahnhof at the Ibis Hotel. It's pretty nice, and a 1 minute walk to the underground and restaurants in the station.
You can get anywhere in town in short time. The train from the BER airport also comes in there which makes getting to the hotel quick and easy.
We took a 2 hour train down to Dresden from there. It's the Germany we were looking for--good hotels, restaurants and far better museums than anything in Berlin.
