I plan to arrive in Munich and ultimately get to Prague via express bus or train for 3 or 4 days before returning for a river cruise on the Danube. I was thinking of staying a night in Munich to recover from jet lag. Any recommendations from anyone on hotels and is it better to stay by the train station or at the airport? Thank you, Kathy
Kathy, I'm not sure when you are traveling but Hilton is having a 30% off sale in Europe this summer. Hilton City Center hotel was running around $160 a night and includes the most fabulous breakfast buffet I have ever seen in my life. It is just 2 S Bahn stops from the train station and on the S Bahn line in from the airport. There is even an entrance to the hotel directly from the S Bahn station. It makes transportation connections very easy.
It was about 10 minutes to walk to the Marianplatz.
Any recommendations from anyone on hotels and is it better to stay by the train station or at the airport?
To relax and recover, I can't think of a better option than Therme Erding. A little over 10 minutes from the airport via taxi.
Thank you so much for the quick reply.

Hi,
I stay in the Munich train station area in a Pension. I suggest the train station over the airport. Numerous hotels of various price ranges depending on your level of luxury are located on the Bayerstraße exit, ie from 2 to 5 stars.
I assume you'll be coming into the city in the morning. In that case, I'd suggest taking the train into the center city to your accommodations. I usually look for places to stay on Booking.com.
