Hotel Burg Liebenstein: Rhine Valley, Germany

For our last night in Europe, my husband and I wanted to do something special. So he searched for one of the ruined castles in the Rhine valley that had been converted into a hotel (we later saw in our travel book that Rick recommends this one; rightly so).

Burg Liebenstein was just the coolest! The décor is medieval, but the modern bathroom was one of the nicest we’d had. The couple who run the place were so sweet and helpful.

We splurged a little on their offer of a “candlelight supper”, and it was so worth it. We were served a five-course meal in their nicest, private dining room, which looked like it was straight out of the Burg Eltz castle tour, with lighted candles and rose petals on our table and delicious food. It was the perfect way to end our trip! We also had breakfast served to us in the same room, which was very nice.

If you fancy the experience of staying in a real medieval castle and a little pampering at mealtime, you’ll enjoy your stay here.
