Hotel am Viktualienmarkt—Munich

Pleasant and clean with a lovely staff. I stayed in a single with a very narrow berth for a bed. Unfortunately, I found the mattress to be as hard as concrete and didn’t sleep a wink. In retrospect, if I’d asked to be moved, they probably would have accommodated me; didn’t think of it until it was too late.

Thank you for sharing. We stayed there 4 years ago on our last night and had a great stay.

We had two twin rooms there in December, 2019. I thought their website photos made it look more charming than it is, but rooms were very clean and I don’t remember anything disagreeable about the beds. I love the location and have booked the apartment for early December this year. Hope they haven’t moved the narrow hard beds up there! On the other hand, I’m so desperate to be back in Europe, I could probably sleep on the floor.

Have stayed there 3 times and the location can't be beat. The front desk staff were friendly and spoke English. But the last time was during a stretch where it was 95F or more each day; they offered a fan but it really didn't help that much. For future stays during warm weather we'll look for a place with A/C.

I'm a 70 year old female who travels solo. I've stayed here at least a dozen times over recent years. The location is perfect! 5 minute walk to Marienplatz with the Glockenspiel and S-Bahn to airport, and St Peters Church, a block to Vikualienmarkt and Biergarten, walking distance to most everything! The rooms are sparkling clean, with comfy mattress, private bathroom, TV, lovely breakfast, and very reasonably priced. I've actually scheduled my visits to Munich around the availability of the small single room they offer. I'm out all day, so it's perfect for me!
