Hi -
Looking for recommendations for a hotel that would accommodate 2 adults 2 teenagers (separate beds for the teens). AC preferred as it will be August. Open to Munich, Salzburg and places in between accessible by train. Thank you!!

No A/C but I can recommend Hotel Uhland in Munich we stayed in their family room which had a double bed, twin bed & sofa bed. Very roomy, clean & ample breakfast. https://www.hotel-uhland.de/en/family-rooms/

In Salzburg we stayed at Hotel Hofwirt, https://www.hofwirt.net/ Their website says they renovated in 2019. We were there in 2017 and found the hotel clean and suitable. Our room had a double in a slightly separated room then 2 twins in the open "living room" roomy and nice. I don't think they had A/C but perhaps they added it when renovating?

I also can recommend Hotel Uhland. The family room was spacious and spotless and the breakfast was excellent. It does look fairly newly renovated. I'm a little surprised that there wouldn't be AC. May want to double check?

In Salzburg, we stayed at a modest, family run inn close to the train station. The folks who run it are very helpful, the room and bathroom was spotless and the breakfast excellent. Our room and bathroom was huge. I'm not sure if they have AC. Hotel Hohenstauffen.

We stayed in the Exquisit Hotel in Munich (city center) with two teenagers a couple of years ago. They have suites called Maisonetts) that are duplexes. Maisonette rooms have a spiral staircase up to a master bedroom (open to lower floor like an indoor balcony). On the first floor of this suite there is a pullout couch and they will bring another single bed into the living room area. Plenty of space for a family of four. There are sort of two bathrooms.. one room with a toilet & sink. Another room with a shower, bidet, and vanity sink with two basins. Very convenient for a family. We stayed in July and didn’t have air conditioning but the weather wasn’t very hot, so not a problem. Book the room with breakfast included (slightly higher price, but much better price than paying when you get there). Breakfast buffet is wonderful- lots of hot and cold foods. We even ordered extras like waffles and bacon that were not on the buffet but were included in the price. You will be very happy with the Exquisit Hotel. This hotel is within walking distance of everything. We walked everywhere. The maisonette rooms are on the top floor of the hotel, so plenty quiet for us.

I recommend the Ibis Munich West modern hotel on Westendstrasse. Good A/C!
I've stayed at the Ibis Munich West hotel twice, once on a RS Tour during Oktoberfest and once with extended family, including four teens. Good air-conditioning, clean, reasonably sized rooms. There is a U-Bahn (subway) entrance right next to the hotel, so easy access around Munich (nothing much near the hotel except a convenience store/gas station right next to it). Great breakfast buffet (extra), and a good but small menu of single-course selections if you choose to eat dinner (as late as 11pm) there - the teens really enjoyed that, so we ate dinner there twice and I admit even the adults enjoyed it as well. The hotel advertises itself for international business and as family-friendly.
