If you are staying anywhere near the Viktualienmarkt or Marienplatz, don't miss tasting the wonderful German food in this restaurant. (We stayed at the Hotel am Viktualienmarkt recommended by Rick Steves and highly recommended by us as well, 3 minutes away. This restaurant was recommended highly by the hotel staff). We ate there twice it was so good--goulash, spaetzle, schnitzel, and especially the Meat Feast for two! Indoors there are community tables and outdoors in the beer garden there are tables for 2, 4 or 6. They even served us the Meat Feast at 10:30 at night after a delayed train from Salzburg--a time when many Munich restaurants have closed their kitchen. Rick, you need to add this to your favorites' list!
