We are in Erfurt right now and RS is right on, the city sights are wonderful. The only thing is we are here on a Friday and Saturday night. The place is packed with Germany tourist. We could not get into any of the RS recommend restaurants as they are full. So I recommend making dinner reservations in advance if possible.

Oh gosh Dave, I'm so glad you mentioned Oktoberfest in Erfurt. I just researched and I'll be in Erfurt during the first weekend of their Oktoberfest. I'm there for other reasons and wasn't sure yet how I would fill my time. I guess I know now!

I'll also take that into account for my hotel, which I'm glad I've already booked!
