Highly recommend Hotel Germania in Cochem. A very nice hotel with way above average (included) breakfast and "can do" staff. The hotel is a two minute walk from the TI and the (Rick Steves) recommended Apolinia restaurant is almost next door. We paid 130 euro per night and it was very good value. We would absolutely stay there again should our travels take us back to the Mosel valley.

We enjoyed the Hotel Zehnthof, just across the bridge on the quite side of the river. Also you have nice views of the main part of town including the castle. The breakfast was great in an atmospheric buffet. We got a room on the top floor with a porch that looked over the river. Cochem is the hub for the Mosel boats, buses and trains. There are scenic hikes at riverside and up in the hills. If we get the chance we will stay there again!
