Best Marriott property/location in Frankfurt...Is the Messe area too far?

Hello all!
We'd love to use our Marriott points/certificates to stay at a Marriott property in Frankfurt (and Munich).
Could anybody offer if one is better than another based on experience or location please? My partner has high status in Marriott.
Though I'm a city girl, I don't need to be surrounded by homeless/druggies so not sure if any of these are considered near the train station, which isn't so great these days. Thinking of staying 3 nights.

  • First choice but is this too far?? Marriott - Messe conference center/Westend-Sud. #37 on Tripadvisor. Supposed to have one of the best member lounges but I don't want to be too far but would love a great place to sleep off my jet lag. : ) -JW Marriott near Innenstadt #95
  • Westin Grand near Innenstadt/Tradefair #88
  • Lune Boutique Hotel safe? (Bahnhofsviertel) near Train station on Neckarstrasse 7-13 #81
  • The Pure above the train station? small rooms? Innenstadt #26

THANK YOU!

In Frankfurt I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn. Near the old town area. There is also a JW Marriott next to the Galleria Mall down the block. Both in nice areas, easy walk to old town and the walking path along the river. (15min) Easy public transport nearby from main train station.

In Munich I stayed at a Marriott Courtyard City Center. Easy walk from the train station 5-10 minutes. Close to the entrance of Old Town (12-15 min)

I have stayed at the Pure and can recommend it. Yes it has small rooms. Train station issues in Frankfurt are not a concern as the Pure can be reached via the "north" entrance and you avoid the chaos on the streets outside the main, east facing entrance. However, you have to either walk through or way around the Red Light District to get anywhere other than the train / metro station.

As was stated, I would recommend a propery near the JW Marriott or Moxy in the city center.

You may want to repost this on the Destination Q&A for Germany.

I am late to this chat - over the years we have stayed near the Messe, sometimes for work several years ago, sometimes for leisure.

It is not in the centre but it is well linked by tram to the Hbf and the centre, also well linked by the S-Bahn (Frankfurt (Main) Messe and Frankfurt West)...

You did not mention if you are flying out of Frankfurt, but I always stay at the Marriott or Sheraton hotel at the Frankfurt airport the night before my stay for an early morning flight.

Vielen Dank everybody! I'm sorry I'm so late in responding. I so appreciate your responses. I decided to book the JW Marriot in FF, Sheraton in Nurmberg and the Aloft in Munich. My partner has very high Marriott status and we used mostly points and certificates. Fingers crossed all is fine! : )
Thanks again!

Aloft in Munich

I would have voted against it, but now it's already booked.

The large construction site at the station is very disruptive - it's loud and dirty. Besides that, the area around the main station isn't somewhere I'd enjoy spending time in the evenings. I only go there if I can't avoid it. In addition to the construction site, there are other empty buildings that attract all kinds of people who do not always give me a feeling of security. Currently it is a real eyesore, which will hopefully disappear when we have the new main station in a few years.
