Hi! We are planning a family of five visit to Berlin the week before Christmas. Looking for either a specific hotel or an area/neighborhood to stay and enjoy Berlin Christmas. Thanks!
I liked the Adina at Hackescher Markt, convenient to the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, Jewish Quarter, Museum Island, and other sights. My large room had a kitchenette. I think the hotel has larger suites that might work for a family. I wasn't there at Christmas but I expect the area would be pretty festive then. EDIT: I agree with periscope about Checkpoint Charlie area. Not much real appeal there.
'll just add, I think the Checkpoint Charlie location would be the least favourable location of the 3, others may differ on that opinion.
Agreed - I have stayed at this Adina, and it is not a very good location for a tourist. But the hotel is very nice.
