Cheap comfy rooms; many with balconies & views of the valley, a very good Bavarian restaurant, a HUGE patio with amazing views, great staff, great location above the town in a meadow. Gorgeous setting.
Ramsau is a really good home base for the area. Good hiking/biking opportunities and your close to Berchtesgaden, Salzburg, Konigsee, etc.
You'll benefit from a car but you could use the bus that stops just down the road.
